Working with a Florist
1- What do you need from the designer/architect in order to get started on a project?
It’s great for florists to be provided with a prospective budget you would like to allocate to florals, and any details that pertain to what you are looking to highlight. This could mean a list of rooms, pictures of the space that's being featured, and any images of floral inspiration that you feel would best compliment the project. We are experts in color matching and are well suited in sourcing.
2- How could we estimate a reasonable budget for future projects?
Pricing to prepare designs for these spaces could easily range anywhere between $750 and $1500. With that said, learning a client's prospective budget first helps us determine what we might be able to prepare for them to stick within our margins. The cost of an arrangement can drastically change based on the floral ingredients used, where they're being sourced and the scale of the design. If a designer is looking to invest in our floral artistry to compliment their space but they're working with a limited budget, a single focal arrangement could be purchased from us out-right for pickup. An interior designer can expect that at least 20% of their floral investment goes towards the labor of your florist conceptualizing, sourcing, processing, designing and delivering, and in some cases a date must be blocked off to become available on-site.
3- Do you prefer to have some art direction? Or do you prefer no art direction?
We are happy to take creative direction and we are also happy to offer it. As artists, we understand and value the work we bring to the table but having good communication, staying humble, being kind, encouraging one another, and being flexible ends up being more of a priority for us than who's in control. With that said, if a client wants for us to bring ideas forward, we're always excited to contribute.
4- Do you drop off the florals at the location only or do you stay in case they need adjustments?
We do have a preference of dropping off in person, and hope to remain on-site to make adjustments while seeing everything come together. If an interior designer is collaborating with us on the project, we like to have the opportunity to see it through and make sure that the flowers we prepare flow seamlessly with the vision and atmosphere. If a designer would prefer a pick-up option, we're happy to accommodate for this as well, we just ask that you make that known in your inquiry through our website.
Thanks, Hayley!
