You do NOT need to hire a photographer

… for these photos:

1- Flat Lay: you are creating a presentation board for your client already, so might as well snap a picture while you’re at it and share it with the world. Later on, you can use it again to create a reel of how it started v. how it’s going.

2- BTS: Under construction photos are my personal favorite! Before and After photos are always great. But then, there is that sweet in between where you get a glimpse of what it will become. Another very much loved BTS is a designer in their natural habitat doing their thing: sourcing, styling, drinking...

3- Lifestyle: did the dream light fixture just arrive for your project? A doorknob? A tile? Think of it as a sponsored ad. Place that one item on a scene and shoot it up close. For example: for a side table, put a drink and a book on it. Done.

Perfection is not the goal here. Save that for shoot day. Go with authenticity. The examples below are styled and not shot with a phone, but they are to show you the how close you should aim to be to your subject.
