Animals and Interiors

Once in a while we get a furry friend that follows us from room to room as we shoot.

If you are like most people, this sentence made you smile or even chuckle a little.

So should we include animals in interior photos? Yes!

Animals add playfulness and a sense of realness to a photo.

They are also good for getting lots of likes if that’s what you’re into ; )

So here’s how to plan for it:

  • If it’s the shedding kind, it’s best to keep it away from the shooting location until we need it. Fur is super obvious to spot on camera. You won’t want to be cleaning after it all day.

  • Have treats ready! We want to make it quick.

  • When thinking of placement, think of our furry friend as a textured prop.

  • Plan on one single shot. Just as any other prop, you don’t want to use it over and over again. It is easy to get distracted with their cuteness, but we must focus on the beautiful interior.

Until next time!
